FC Barcelona does not need Cesc Fabregas

Barcelona are a great team. They play a brand of football that impresses everyone. Their style of play is very creative and depends a lot on smooth flowing short passes and holding onto the ball. The creative genius of Xavi in particular and the trio of Xavi, Iniesta and Messi is general, more often than not, prove too much to handle for opposition teams. None of these players is leaving anytime soon so why is everyone related to Barcelona talking about signing Fabregas?

Cesc Fabregas is an extremely creative midfielder. The moves he creates and the passes he gives are exceptional and he can score goals too. All that creativity, most people argue, will be good for Barcelona who already have one Xavi who does the same.

My argument is simple. Too many cooks spoil the broth. Too much creativity in the center might be good if you have a lone striker in front but Barcelona almost play with 3 strikers. Yes messi starts behind the strikers but regularly dribbles past defenders and ends up scoring more than the actual strikers (Ibra, Henry, Pedro and Bojan). With so much fire power up front, with one of them (Messi) floating around and another (Iniesta) close by to compound Xavi's creative efforts, where would fabregas fit in?

But what if Xavi is injured? Who can fill his shoes if Cesc is not there? On such a day, Guardiola can switch the team to a 4-4-2 formation with Messi stepping back into central midfield to help Iniesta because with the arrival of David Villa the front line is more potent than ever and one can expect Villa to add the sort of clinical striking to barca which would allow the team to use Messi in a more anchor role, in Xavi's absence,to supply passes and through balls which is actually pretty good at.

In the end, I have to admit I would love to see Fabregas playing with Iniesta and Xavi in place of the overrated Busquets but then I would love to see Rooney and Messi play together too. Barca does not "need" to sign Fabregas right now. Let him play at Arsenal for one more season and focus more on defensive weaknesses.

Afghanistan peace plan - A reply to another 5 point plan

Well, here goes my reply as it is visible below the article on the above link too.

I commend the authors positivity and effort but expecting free elections from USA where Bush’s election was ‘controversial’ to say the least, where new presidents change their policies from their campaign policies as soon as they are elected, and the country which goes to wars on lesser evidence than there is for aliens on mars, is beyond positivity and sounds more like a dream.
Why presidential elections? Was there a president in the stable pre-9/11 Afghanistan? did afghans have a president when USA attacked? Why not let the people choose their leader however they wish instead of shoving democracy down their throats? Enforcing any ruling system whether democracy or dictatorship are both morally wrong.
I disagree that peace can be achieved only by developmental activity. This inherently means USA should carry out developmental activities, which will give them more time to try to poison the Afghans with the American way of life and corrupt mentality.
There is only one true just solution. USA to leave Afghanistan, Pakistan to help talibaan setup their institutions and govt again since we understand them more than anyone else, and then let the people select their leader to lead the new system.
Sadly due to Musharraf, Pakistani reputation in Afghanistan was heavily damaged, but according to Mulla Omar’s statements they still dont have a grudge as they know it was Musharraf and not all Pakistanis who sold them out to the Americans. They will trust Pakistanis more than any other people.
A bigger problem is that our current government will probably not be interested in this. They still dont understand who funds TTP and that they are not Afghan talibaan, so its expecting too much of them to think they can actually understand or carry out such a policy. I wish Pakistanis realize soon that this government isnt going to lead them to the destination that Iqbal and Jinnah had in mind. Something needs to be done on this side of the border too. Presidents on both sides do not have the support of the people.

Note:

As is evident from my reply above, I am one of those people who look at every Afghan policy from USA very skeptically due to the simple fact that they invaded and destroyed an entire country based on false assumptions and for the sake of oil and gass routes. The have no moral highground contrary to their delusions. The American think tanks, their defense analysts, their presidential advisors, lobbies etc cannot and should not be trusted at all if we Muslims whether Afghan or Pakistani intend any sort of true peace and justice for this region.

Swat peace deal - Actual points

Stated below are the 14 actual points of the Swat peace deal. I couldnt find them on any news site, nor did i ever see then in any Pakistani or International media except NewsOne. Lets examine the points:

1. Sharia law would be implemented in Swat and Malakand.
2. Security forces will gradually withdraw from the region.
3. The government and the Taliban would exchange prisoners.
4. Militants would recognize the writ of the government and cooperate with security forces.
5. Taliban would halt attacks on barber and music shops.
6. Ban on display of weapons by militants in public.
7. Taliban would lay down heavy weapons.
8. Taliban would close down training camps.
9. Taliban would denounce suicide attacks.
10. A ban would be placed on raising private militias.
11. Taliban will cooperate with the government to vaccinate children against diseases like polio.
12. Fazlullah’s madrassa, the Imam Dheri would be turned into an Islamic university.
13. Only licensed FM radio stations would be allowed to operate in the region.
14. Taliban would allow women to “perform their duties at the workplace without any fear.”

Now the real question is, why are our media and politicians hiding these points and claiming that this deal is a "surrender" or in some way supports TTP? Any one in their right mind can read these and immediately say all these are in favor of the state and the people of Paksitan.

svchost.exe eating up cpu resources and slowing down PC.... simple solution!

Ok, most people are plagued by this problem more often than they think. Some even run to get their RAM upgraded or getting a better processor.

Well im here to tell you thats all unnecessary. For those of you who know svchost.exe is taking up 99% or 100% cpu respources skip directly to the solution.

If you are still reading, you probably dont know what svchost is and whether it is taking your cpu resources or not. Press ctrl+altr+del and open the task manager. Go to the "Processes" tab and sort by CPU usage by clicking "CPU" in the column head. If you see svchost.exe on top now and it says its using between 90% and 100% resources, welcome to the most frequent Windows bug that bugs people out of sanity. lol And now for the simplest solution possible -

SOLUTION.........

1 - Open command prompt (Start > Command Prompt)

2 - Type what is written below and hit enter/return.

net stop "Automatic Updates"

Yahoooooooooooo!!!

Now get back to what you were doing!

err ... still here... why?

Oh, you want to know why this worked?

svchost was running Windows Updates in the background, and we just stopped the updates.

Anti-privatization

The controlling ethical issue in the anti-privatization perspective is the need for responsible stewardship of social support missions. Market interactions are all guided by self-interest, and successful actors in a healthy market must be committed to charging the maximum price that the market will bear. Privatization opponents believe that this model is not compatible with government missions for social support, whose primary aim is delivering affordability and quality of service to society.

Many privatization opponents also warn against the practice's inherent tendency toward corruption. As many areas which the government could provide are essentially profitless, the only way private companies could, to any degree, operate them would be through contracts or block payments. In these cases, the private firm's performance in a particular project would be removed from their performance, and embezzlement and dangerous cost cutting measures might be taken to maximize profits.

Furthermore, opponents of privatization argue that it is undesirable to transfer state-owned assets into private hands for the following reasons:

Performance. A democratically elected government is accountable to the people through a legislature, Congress or Parliament, and is motivated to safeguarding the assets of the nation. The profit motive may be subordinated to social objectives.
Improvements. the government is motivated to performance improvements as well run businesses contribute to the State's revenues.
Corruption. Government ministers and civil servants are bound to uphold the highest ethical standards, and standards of probity are guaranteed through codes of conduct and declarations of interest. However, the selling process could lack transparency, allowing the purchaser and civil servants controlling the sale to gain personally.

Terror in Pakistan in 2008

Some 725 Pakistanis - 149 Law Enforcing Agencies (LEAs) officials and 576 civilians - were killed in 63 terrorist attacks, averaging 61 killings per month, in 2008.

In the year’s first suicide attack on police outside the Lahore High Court (LHC) on January 10, 16 police officials and four civilians were killed. In the year’s last suicide attack on a polling station in Buner on December 28, 34 people, including four children were killed.

Chronology: Jan 10, 16 police officials and four civilians were killed in a suicide attack outside the LHC, Lahore.

Jan 14, a bomb killed 10 people in a crowded market in Karachi.

Feb 9, a suicide bomber killed 25 people in an election rally in Charsadda. On February 16, a suicide car bomber struck at a PPP rally in Parachinar, killing 37 people.

Feb 22, a roadside bomb hit a wedding party in Swat, killing at least 14 people.

The world tells paksitan to do more for stoping attacks in Afghanistan. Who has done anything for Pakistan to stop terror here? ISI gave TTP co-ordinates to US forces and drones confirmed a lock but never fired. The govt blamed TTP for assasinating BB but still havent declared them terorrists or given clearence ot army for full fledge attacks on TTP. Will Paksitanis keep suffering, unlike a free naiton???

LAHORE: Setting aside an objection raised by the registrar’s office, Lahore High Court Acting Chief Justice Mian Najamuzzaman on Thursday admitted for regular hearing a petition seeking registration of cases against Geo Television’s employees and owners for running a story which said that Ajmal Kasab was a resident of Faridkot.

Sardar Hur Bukhari, a leader of PPP, had filed the petition as a Pakistani citizen. On Tuesday, the LHC registrar office had raised an objection to the petition that the petition fell under the jurisdiction of subordinate courts, advising the petitioner to avail that remedy first.

The petitioner said he had filed an application for registration of a case with the Muslim Town police against Geo TV Lahore bureau chief, reporter, cameraman and owners of the channel for running the story which, he contended, damaged Pakistan’s image all over the world and gave opportunity to Indian TV channels to propagate against Pakistan. He said the police had denied registration of the case.

He maintained that by running what he called a ‘fake’ story, the TV had committed anti-state activity and for which all responsible should be brought to the book. He sought directions for SHO Muslim Town and the SP concerned to register an FIR against the responsible.

Mashallah, there seem to be patriotic elements everywhere contrary to general belief. May Allah reward Sardar Hur Bukhari and everyone else doing their part for Pakistan whether in any form. We as a nation need to have a clear aim and priorities where we should not compromise on national pride, national image, or national security. Everything else should be secondary. Ethnicity, political party, area, etc should be put aside now. I hope this is not an isolated incident but rather shows that the nation is slowly waking up.

I hope the real patriots and nationalists join together and mobilize the youngsters to stage massive protests against drone attacks, Indian attitude and the apologetic government stance which seeks to implement every order from the west and continues to feed Indian confidence in attacking Pakistan on every front. India is not letting their channels say anything other than the official story. Why do we allow channels to act as the enemy's tools? Geo heads should apologize otherwise they should be tried for treason.

17 things to do for Pakistan to be awesome!

My 17 point plan for Pakistan. If this is done, Pakistan will rise to unseen hights. Rational thought guarantees it.

1) Pakistan should default and declare bankruptcy.

2) The govt should say that it will not pay back a penny of loans because of foreign interference in out internal affairs for the past 60+ years.

3) Food exports should be banned unless it can be proved that the food has been unused and unneeded for over a year in state controlled warehouses.

4) Nuclear reactors should pop up everywhere to produce more electricity than we need. State owned.

5) Basic necessities should be abundant and cheap. like wheat, water, energy etc. The state should invest in this.

6) Banks should be told to get lost. And a state managed financial storage should be setup.

7) Income and sales tax should be the first to be finished as they are logically stupid to say the least and outright evil things.

8) Real Alims (Islamic scholors) who know economics, science, history, etc should replace the existing mullas in parliament. Make a house of representative out of them. We call ourselves islamic republic. lets have modern experts who also know islam in the ruling system.

9) Who ever wants a secular capitalist country should be deported to india since theoretically these people are opposing the partition bases on two nation theory.

10) Make universities and sports centers out of all govt official palaces as well as parliement houses etc.

11) Let the people elect an executive head of state with no legislative rather only implementing powers after a month of media covered debates on their plans for pakistan. The people should see candidates debating on how they are going to make pakistan a world leader in 5 years or less. The people arent stupid. they can make the correct decision. Give them a chance. Call this guy head of state, khalifa, imam, president, whatever you want.

12) The armed forces should be responsible for this election and making sure this happens efficiently.

13) Members of the house of representative scholars, should have to live in their original cities in a middle class housing area without any guards or protection. They should have to earn security from the support of the common man. The can attend govt sessions on the phone. To wasting money on traveling to Islamabad all the time.

14) The head of state should be easily removable from power if the highest judge in the country gives proof-based verdict that he has done harm to national interest willfully.

15) Privatization of things like refineries, energy supply and other basic needs should be banned by constitution. These should be state owned/run and military protected.

16) End all coal, gol, copper etc mining contacts with foreign companies. This should also be done by the state and should be un constitutional to privatize mineral assets or any such produce like oil or gas.

17) The military should enforce the implementation of the constitution with respect to all points above wile staying out of politics.

What happened to Karachi?

The title is actually a question my cousin asked me when i told her that i had been robbed of my cellphone and cash for the 2nd time in this year.

What happened to Karachi???
What happened to Karachi is what is happening every where... people sitting quietly and letting the wrong doers do what they want. We as a nation (Muslims/Pakistanis) are not in this condition because of the people who ruin it or the people who do evil (as Einstein put it), but because of the millions who let this go on and do nothing about it.

We are all guilty to this whether we like it or not.
We can sit in our homes and turn our faces to the problems but what goes round comes round. Maybe some of us can "afford" to feel safe (for now) but what about those who aren't so blessed with money or power or location?

Are they not humans?
Are the innocent children dying in Waziristan of a lesser species than us? Don't they deserve to live like humans? Don't the Palestinians, Iraqis, or non-Kabul Afghans deserve to live in peace? Are those who live in Kashmir or the politically neutral people living in Karachi filth, that they can be abused all the time? are we a nation of mindless, heartless, soul less, respect less people who will keep watching enemies ruin us either through government, crime, direct war or any other means?

It hurts
Yes, and it hurts a lot, to see Muslims selling themselves and their faith short.
Why are we drowning in this inferiority complex? Why do we assume there is no solution to our problem? Why do we "assume" that Islam doesn't have solutions for these problems, and still claim in school that Islam is a complete way of life and a divine religion. Do we think God almighty has sent us here without proper guidance and will still account us? Or do we think that He has sent rules but they aren't enough to solve our problems.

State
A state must have a clear Ideology which it implements and teaches to its people and others do that it has faithful and supporting citizens. A state must protect its ideology and basic constitution at any cost. A state must protect its citizens. A state must choose to "do the right thing" instead of doing whats easy. A state should actively protect its borders and sovereignty from every opposition no matter how strong. A state should give pride to its citizens. A state should be responsible for providing all basic necessities like energy, water, food, shelter, security, health care.
"It is technically impossible for any other ideology other than Islam to form such a state!"

Pakistan and wheat

I read the following news in DAWN (newspaper):

LAHORE, July 16: The government is considering a proposal to link domestic wheat prices to regional prices from the next Rabi season to curb smuggling.

What? What sort of linking? Every country produces different amounts of wheat hence they are priced differently. The purchasing power parity also differs. Then i read further:

“The cabinet has discussed a proposal to control smuggling of wheat through a price mechanism,” Information Minister Sherry Rehman told a briefing after the meeting. But she did not say whether the cabinet had approved the proposal or not.

Hmm,... lets see, if wheat gets smuggled outside Pakistan, who suffers?
Two kinds of people in my opinion:

1 - The common man
When the wheat is smuggled away, there is shortage if wheat. Simple. The price of wheat rises due to the cruel supply/demand rule. People either don't get the wheat, or they do get it but at higher prices.
2 - The exporter The wheat exporter suffers too since there is lesser wheat already in the country, so naturally the exporter has lesser wheat to export. If he does get his hands on the wheat before anyone else, he again creates problems for the common man because when he would export the wheat, lesser of it is left which might raise the wheat price locally.

Lets read on at what the news said next:

“Wheat prices in Pakistan are still very low, compared to its global and regional prices. It is because of this price difference that the grain is being smuggled to Afghanistan and other countries,” she said

"OH MY GOD", I thought out loud. What kind or reason is that? The common man cannot get any benefit from this if this happens. Obviously if the wheat prices rise above a certain extent most people wouldn't be able to afford it, so the issue of enough wheat being available would vanish. There will be a lot of unused grain since people will be forced to buy lesser wheat.

What about the exporter? Interestingly the exporter wont suffer as much. Why? since the exporter would probably have the same or more amount of wheat to export. Why, since now people wont buy enough of it due to its high price.

I have only two logical solution to this mystery in my mind:

1- The government has failed to think of another way of dealing with smuggling.
2- This law is going to be implemented to benefit wheat exporters of wheat producing landowners.

I am flabbergasted. I fail to see the wisdom in this. If anyone has any idea why this might be useful please let me know as comments on the blog.

A brother narrated the story of a boy and a girl, where the boy and girl had never met but only talked online or on sms. The girl got married somewhere else but when she learned through someone that the boy is contemplating suicide she contacted him and said that she loves him and believes they will be together in heaven. If the boy would commit suicide now he would go to hell and would never meet the girl again so he stopped. Sometime afterward, he heard from someone that husband and wife in this world will be together in heaven too according to Islam. Knowing little about Islam, the boy didnt know whether to believe this or not, but he thought that if this were true, and he cannot be with his beloved in heaven, then the torture of being without her in this life will continue for eternity. What then would be the difference between heaven and hell for him?
The narrator of the story was asking people on an Islamic community on orkut whether there is something like this in the Quran or Hadith and said that its a "life and death" situation, saying that the boy is contemplating suicide again after this.

Thats the story, maybe hypothetical, maybe real. Who knows. But im sure such people do exist. And therefore I am expressing my views and a solution to this problem too.

Firstly, lets look at the concept of heaven.
Heaven by definition is a place so grand and so awesome that it cannot be properly defined in words or even thought about. We as humans, make images in our minds based on our experiences. Can a person imagine a place that he/she truly cannot understand? Such a place demands by definition that everything over there will be nothing like anything that exists in our realities. We can only talk about this place in vague comparisons and metaphors like "milk flowing in rivers" showing infinite supply of nutrition, "sitting areas set in magnificent gardens" showing that this place will be glorious in its beauty and feelings the feelings of tranquility we get around nature will be abundant.

One can debate whether people will be in their earthly bodies or in spiritual forms. But whatever form, it is said that we will know the things we cannot know in the world and live the way we cannot live here. So, maybe we wont have to eat to stay well, maybe we wont need to enjoy food as it might be something too small in comparison to other abundant sources of enjoyment. Maybe the animal-instinct of attraction to mates we feel here will be something "childish" over there when our consciousness will rise to its infinite capacity.

Like when a child cries for a specific toy, maybe a rubber duck. If the child doesn't get that duck, and he still remembers this till when he grows up, do you think the grown man will go and buy a rubber duck because he couldn't have it when he was younger? When he was a child, you could offer him anything, no matter how many times better than the duck, the child loved the duck and wouldn't accept any other replacement. But the grown man, does not have that affection for the duck, maybe he wants to buy a car, or a watch, or a house, or something for his wife.

The rubber duck example might appear odd. You might be thinking "what the hell does this have to do with the topic". Everything. It has everything to do with the topic. Ill show you how:

- The boy who wants to commit suicide is like the little child who is crying for the rubber duck.
- His love for the girl is like the affection the child has for the rubber duck.
- Leading a normal life and getting rewarded with heaven and living happily in heaven is like the child growing up into a successful man.

and now.... the conclusion of the comparison,
- The grown man prefers other things over the rubber duck. Now if he ever thinks about that duck, he laughs at himself about how he cried for something which wasn't important at all in reality. In this new reality where he has other things to worry about, and other pleasures in life, he doesn't remember the duck and lives a perfect life without it. Even having it now would mean nothing to him. You can easily guess how this translates to the scenario of the suicidal boy.

The problem is that many of us don't think we will grow up, we think that the things important to us (even the people) will continue to have the same important and place in our hearts and minds even after this life. Try telling the child that he will not need the rubber duck when he grown up and he is sure to continue crying. Similarly, unless he start believing that the life hereafter is not a 2nd installment of this life but something totally different, we would continue to feel incomplete everything we fail to achieve anything, or be with someone or do something we want.

Personally, id like to think that those of us who have happy and fulfilling marriages will be with our spouses in heaven and those who don't will find other spouses, but maybe such relationships wont appeal to us anymore in heaven.

Let us think what we need to do in order to have a better chance of being in the blessed ones on teh day of judgment instead of dwelling on the failures in this temporary life.

Tennis and pakistan

Isnt it strange how everyone started talking about Aisam ul-haq qureshi when he got into the 2nd round of Wimbledon, but since then no one is giving the guy any attention....

The so called free-media which says it projects and supports anything Pakistani hasnt even shown his tennis matches on tv.

Geo super called him in for an interview but still didnt give his matches any airtime.
Is this how we support our athletes?
Geo super can singe handedly sponsor Aisam and other players in international tournaments. But for some reason they behave like "Geo Cricket" and "Geo Racing" since these are the only things they give airtime to.

Pakistani tennis players dont have good standard coaching. They dont get to play with international player either, but still when we see talented people lie Aisam trying so hard to achieve something we as a nation step back and cant even get him sponsorships to go and play tournaments? Why cant puma or nike sponsor him? wouldnt it be great marketing for them?

tsk tsk tsk.... if the guy were born in ANY other country he would have gotten so much support that he would be appearing in many major tournaments and maybe even reaching semi's or finals.

shame on us, for gods sake people, there is more to sports than just cricket. Maybe some pakistanis would also like to see a paki player playing in grand slams or at least tier 1 tennis tournaments.
